DESCRIPTION
Built between 1730 and 1750 under the direction of Francesc Mestres -Barcelona’s Cathedral Master of Works- this urban palace was designed as the residence of the Moxó family, prominent members of the local aristocracy. The Palau -one of the finest examples of 18th-century Baroque civil architecture preserved to this day- became one of the city's most distinguished private residences and a well-known scenario for exclusive receptions to the local high society. Now, Mercer Hoteles reopens the Palau and more than 500sqm (5,382sqft) of halls and patios are being adapted to the 21st century to host select events where past and present discreetly converge, creating a unique setting in the heart of the Gothic Quarter for high-level celebrations, tailored to your needs: recitals, presentations, conferences, banquets, gala dinners, business meetings, business lunches, wine tastings, fashion shows, photo shoots, showrooms…
